WELCOME

On behalf of the European Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, I am delighted to welcome the delegates from around the world to 5th Meeting of our Academy.

Our last event in Venice was well attended by 400 attendees and many positive feedback were received from both the delegates and the manufactures.
TransilvaniaOk is organized with the intent to offer the opportunity to gain insights from worldwide distinguished experts in the field as well as of the latest related innovations available.

Our 2019 Meeting will consist of days dedicated to the General session, Workshops and Exhibition. This year, upon request of our regional Section, we are offering a Pre-Meeting fully dedicated to Basic workshops: Topography, Advanced Biomicroscopy, Visual examination, Diagnosis and treatment of visual dysfunctions. One and a half day of full immersion in clinical procedures. Our traditional event will have a day dedicated to clinical workshops: Basic and Advanced Orthokeratology, Myopia Management and Scleral Lenses. The newest Myopia Management workshop will cover the entire process of the myopic patient care and will include the recommendations of the Academy. As usual, the General Session will enriched by the contribution of scientific knowledge of our international speakers from around the world.
We are more and more alerted to the reality of rapid and accelerated increases of myopia among the younger population all around the world. As primary care practitioners we are urged to provide our patient with clinical and evidence based strategies for a more effective control of the myopic progression.

In view of this amazing and exciting programme we encourage you to register for the conference as soon as possible and take advantage of the early bird registration till Oct. 15th.
Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the world class speakers and network with the industry peers.
We are all here to shape the future of myopic vision’s care!
We look forward to welcome you to TransilvaniaOK.

With best wishes,
Marino Formenti

THE CITY

“Bohemian cafes, music festivals and vigorous nightlife are the soul of Cluj-Napoca, Romania's second-largest city. With increasing flight links to European cities, Cluj is welcoming more and more travellers, who usually shoot off to the Apuseni Mountains, Maramureş or more popular towns in southern Transylvania. But once arrived, first-time visitors inevitably lament their failure to allow enough time in Cluj.

Don’t make the same mistake. Start with the architecture, ranging from Romania’s second- largest Gothic church to baroque buildings and medieval towers. Dip into galleries and gardens. And allow at least one lazy morning to recover from Cluj’s fiery nightlife. The city, teeming with students and artists, is by turns bookish and bawdy. “ (Lonely Planet)
